Lesson Policy
How Our Lesson-Credit System Works
Our lesson-credit system is designed to allow flexible lesson planning at an average rate of about 40 lessons per year.
In general, students who attend lessons more intensively during one period may attend less intensively during another. This flexibility is built into the system, so that lesson planning can better adapt to each student's schedule over time.
Here is a summary of how it works:
1. Permanent Lesson Slot
Each student chooses a permanent lesson slot. This slot is booked for the student every week by default.
2. Lesson Credits
Each package contains 10 lesson credits. Each booked lesson uses 1 credit, unless it is cancelled or rescheduled with valid notice.
Credits are tracked based on booked lesson slots, rather than whether the student actually attends the lesson.
3. 13-Week Cycle and Rollover Credits
Each new package begins a cycle with a default duration of 13 weeks.
Unused credits may roll over into the next cycle once. In the next cycle, the 10 credits from the new package are used first, followed by any rolled-over credits. Any rolled-over credits that remain unused at the end of that cycle will expire.
4. Extension Weeks
If all available credits are used before 13 weeks have passed, the cycle ends early. Each full week remaining out of the 13 weeks is saved as 1 Extension Week.
In a future cycle, if there are unused credits after 13 weeks have passed, accumulated Extension Weeks are automatically used to give the student more time. Each Extension Week extends the cycle by 1 week.
If the centre is closed for an entire week, 1 Extension Week is also added.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Please WhatsApp us at least 24 hours before the lesson to cancel or reschedule with valid notice.
With less than 24 hours' notice, 1 credit will normally be used. However, subject to availability, a replacement lesson may be arranged. If the replacement lesson takes place within 7 calendar days of the original lesson, the replacement lesson uses the credit instead.
Late notice due to illness is an exception, and no credit is used. Other unavoidable emergencies may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
6. If the Student Does Not Continue
If the student does not purchase the next package at the end of the current cycle:
-
The permanent lesson slot will be released.
-
Any unused credits will expire instead of rolling over.
-
Any accumulated Extension Weeks will expire.
Keeping Track of Credits
Invoices will include a short credit summary, so that parents can easily keep track of the credits and Extension Weeks for each cycle.
